It`s been a year since I took TESOL in February 2014. I enjoyed my class with my mentor Ms. Jan Medina. It was a different experience with her; she is my life-time mentor. I remember when she told me, “Ren, if you will take TESOL and work hard, you will get there.” And YES! She is right because I am now employed as a staff in a multi-national company in Japan, a country where every dream comes true!
Employers nowadays do not only look out for professional expertise and experience, they also look out for individuals who have good character traits, excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills, which is one of the things I learned when I took TESOL at Pacesetter Institute. I am enjoying my work now as a Staff Interpreter for my Japanese clients and my fellow Filipinos. My training was not only to teach English abroad, but also it made possible for me to link bridges between two different cultures for business.
