By Teacher Dorothy
I never imagined God would put me in the capable hands of Pacesetters Institute coaches.
It all started with simply following this passion for teaching that He placed in my heart. I just followed His leading and, so in His own sweet time, He directed my paths to the right place. God gave me people that would hone my teaching skill and sharpen my proficiency of English language. Every step was determined by Him to help me reach my ultimate destination: to teach and to bless my students.
Indeed, God speaks to us in every season of life. Sometimes we listen, and sometimes we don’t. Granted that, there are passages in the Scriptures that stick with me more in every different chapter as I was growing up. I had a favorite verse when I was in high school, which was 24 years ago, and a totally different one when I had my second baby four years ago.
I have now advanced in years. Knowing what I know now and having been through everything that I went through—the good, the bad, and the ugly, I can say there’s one Scripture passage that really stood out for me. And it’s Proverbs 3: 5 & 6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Considering the good and bad together, the end result is success because God arranges every detail.
As you may know, other places in the Bible talk about the importance of trusting God, too.
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.”Psalm 118:8 & 9
“Put NOT your trust in princes, nor in mortal man, who cannot save.”Psalm 146:3
“This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man, who makes the flesh his strength and turns his heart from the LORD.”Jeremiah 17:5
Life is so full of choices. I know you agree. And although it’s true that we are free to choose anything, we are not free to choose the consequences.
Sometimes, we feel it’s better not to decide anymore--especially when there are so many things to consider. It’s also quite difficult to know what the right choice is when the heart isn’t right. Emotions like anger, fear, or even excitement, can hinder us from making the right choice. Oftentimes, our limited understanding can be a reason for slips or mistakes in our decisions. We can only see so much of what lies ahead.
And the Lord knows the human condition. That’s why He commands us to trust only Him.
What are the benefits of trusting in the Lord? Verse 7 of Proverbs 3 actually says it quite beautifully, “Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.”God will not only show us a clear direction to where we should go, but trusting Him will actually be healthy for our body and strength to our bones.
Because I trusted God when I was trying to decide which TESOL training center I would enroll at, He led me right at the doorsteps of Pacesetters Institute. What appealed to me the most is their culture of “coaching for life.” I can attest that God is truly the center of their existence. And with that, I have confidence that Pacesetters trained me not for the purpose of adding a number to their alumni, but Pacesetters is committed to my success as an English teacher. And that, my friend, is the beauty of trusting God. He gives us the best in His own sweet time.
When we fully trust God, He blesses our spirit, our daily going out and coming in, our future, our body, and our bones. In Him alone are we strong. In Him alone are we fully satisfied. In Him alone are we utterly complete and safe.
"A life spent trusting God is a life that’s always in a place of blessing.
A day that’s spent trusting in God is a day spent in a place of blessing."
I know for sure that when I look back on my life, Pacesetters was one of the best choices I’ve made.
Trusting God with every detail means REST for my soul and ABUNDANCE in my life.
